Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco November 4th 2022

From November 11th to 13th, 2022, downtown Puerto Vallarta will host the Madonnari Festival, an event that returns after three years of absence due to the global sanitary contingency.

Madonnari Festival is an annual three-day cultural event, where elaborate chalk paintings are drawn and displayed. These works are created by artists of all ages directly on the sidewalks of downtown Puerto Vallarta.

For this coming edition more than 100 people are expected to participate, who will freely express their work in Puerto Vallarta’s Main Square, as well as in the side corridors of the Municipal Palace.

Madonnari Festival Puerto Vallarta is organized by the Sister City Committees of Puerto Vallarta and Santa Barbara California, with the support of the town’s City Hall.

This year, the first two places in the adult category will win a ticket and their expenses paid from Puerto Vallarta to Santa Barbara, where they’ll have the opportunity to participate in that city’s festival next year.

The first street painting contest and “festival” on record was held in London in 1906.
